Samba mit Ani & Renatinho / Forrô mit Luisa Conti

Born in Rome, Italy, in 1989 but raised in Mexico, she grew up immersed in Latin social dancing culture. From an early age, she experimented with different couple dances, such as Salsa and Cumbia. When she moved back to Rome, she felt the need for an authentic social dance experience, which she found in Brazilian Forró.
She started dancing Forró in 2013 in Rome and has been passionate about Forró culture, music, and dancing ever since. In 2016 she was introduced to a particular style of Forró called ‘Roots’, characterized by movements that emphasize musicality, body connection, and footwork. Since then, she has been perfecting her repertoire in both follower and leader roles by participating in different international festivals, workshops, and private classes in both Europe and Brazil. She keeps her didactics skills updated by regularly participating in teacher training courses and teacher coaching. In 2020, she attended a course focused on teaching Forró Roots and delivered by Yse Góes. In 2021, she participated in a course held by Francesca Maiolino and Hugo Silva, where she obtained her Forró instructor certification with CSEN (Italy). In 2023, she attended a teachers’ training course held by Sheila Santos and Leo Diniz. She attends regular private teaching coaching by Sheila Santos.
Luisa has been teaching and organizing Forró events and festivals since 2020 and she has held regular Forró classes in Prague, Rome, and Munich, where she currently lives and coordinates the Munique Dança Forró association’s teacher team. She also regularly travels to teach and coach local teachers in cities such as Regensburg and Bolzano. Luisa focuses on communicative and playful dancing, teaching under a philosophy of gender and role equality. Her lessons are focused on increasing the dancer’s abilities and communication between the dancing couple. She emphasizes both follower and leader roles to make the dance as comfortable and fluid as possible. She advises followers to become more active and autonomous while giving the leaders the tools for a precise and sensitive leading technique.
